Nearly a year ago, the Grand Bargain Caucus on Scaling up #AnticipatoryAction was launched under the leadership of Ambassador Michael Koehler. This initiative represented a collaborative effort among 18 Signatories, co-championed by Germany, United Nations OCHA, Save the Children International, and World Food Programme, with expert support from the Anticipation Hub. 🔍 In the #GrandBargain, a Caucus is a strategic tool that elevates discussions and decision-making to a political and strategic level. These "coalitions of the willing" focus on monitoring, driving, and encouraging progress on specific commitments. After months of discussions and negotiations, all the Caucus members endorsed the Anticipatory Action outcome document on 19 December, laying down substantial commitments to increase funding, improve coordination at international, national and local levels, and track funding dedicated to anticipatory action. 🔄 As we move forward, the focus will shift towards implementing these commitments and monitoring progress to effectively scale anticipatory action, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in crises situations.
