A message from the Anticipation Hub
September began with exciting news: the Anticipation Hub announced the appointment of Kara Devonna Siahaan as the new Head of the Anticipation Hub from September 1st. Alexandra Rüth is now transitioning to a role at the German Red Cross as the Head of Knowledge and Innovation Department but will remain very closely connected to the Anticipation Hub and its community of partners and users. We also held our first Advisory Group meeting on 2 September.
Our anticipatory action community continues to grow, and we now have 80 partners. The most recent partners are: Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV); Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO); UCL Warning Research Centre and Institute of Risk and Disaster Research; and the Feinstein International Center, Tufts University. You can find blog posts from some of our new partners in the resources below.
In this edition, you can find an abundance of knowledge resources from our partners: blog posts, reports, publications and videos that cover topics that include anticipating cholera, anticipatory action and child protection, anticipating heatwaves in Bangladesh, drought in Niger (in French and English) and the new ‘Anticipation Talks’ podcast (in Spanish). We have also included a range of policy and advocacy materials, including reflections on the High-level Humanitarian event on Anticipatory Action, which was held earlier this month.
As always, please keep in touch and share your knowledge resources, news and events on anticipatory action!
