A message from the Anticipation Hub

Our community continues to grow: there are now 91 partners of the Anticipation Hub, from across the practice, science and policy sectors. Major achievements in recent months include the launch of our anticipatory action community conversations, a webinar series that has so far facilitated exchanges around forecasting in eastern Africa and the recent IPCC report. We have also engaged at the European Humanitarian Forum, on World Meteorological Day and at MENA Climate Week.

In our efforts to scale up anticipatory action, the power of collaborating with governments, in particular disaster risk management authorities and hydro-meteorological agencies, is increasingly evident. So too is the need to empower the next generation of anticipatory action professionals. Looking ahead, we are busy preparing engage with partners at Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships week, the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction and the Multi-Hazard Early Warning conference. Come and join us!

Thanks to the many contributions from our partners and working groups, this newsletter is packed full of learning resources around anticipatory action, climate science, forecasting, earth observation, gender and inclusion, urban early action, policy mainstreaming and much more. We hope you enjoy digesting it all - and please get in touch with ideas or questions for the Anticipation Hub team.
