Anticipatory action has gained broad recognition as an effective way to reduce humanitarian needs by intervening before a hazard’s impacts fully unfold, yet it remains chronically underfunded. A new working paper by the Anticipation Hub looks at how insurance could be used to support anticipatory action.
In light of the drastic funding cuts for the humanitarian sector, the working group on linking risk financing to anticipatory action will be relaunched on 23 July 10 - 11 CEST. If you would like to participate in the meeting, please reach out to Dr Nikolas Scherer.
Please also consider participating in our survey created to assess the impact of funding cuts on anticipatory action. Your input will help support stakeholders in better understanding the challenges faced during financial constraints, while also offering valuable insights that may guide future programming within the anticipatory action community.
A recent webinar series on the basics of forecasting is now available as an on-demand version for everyone who missed the live series. You can help shape future learning possibilities by sharing your preferred learning style and information needs on forecasting in this short questionnaire.
You can find all the latest news for the sector on the Anticipation Hub website.
